About Us:

Central Volunteer Fire Department is located in Lackawaxen Township, Pike County, PA. Incorporated in 1949 with a large community backing the fire department was a necessity. Back then we started with a 1949 Jeep modified to fight fires, currently we house 6 pieces of apparatus that have various operations depending on any kind of emergency. Our department covers approximately 30 square miles with an approximate population of about 2,500 permanent residents which increase dramatically in the summer months. CVFD responds to around 300 emergency calls a year, which is trending upwards. Our members are constantly training to hone in their skills, we train on a weekly basis to better serve the community. We are always looking to increase our family size, we accept anyone from the age of 14 and up.
